Anyone have any camping tips for Everglades National Park? Also, while I'm in the area I'll be heading down the Overseas Highway for some key lime pie and fried conch. I'm not entirely sure I'll ride all the way to Key West, but does anyone have any tips or recommendations for food down that way?

Looks like I'm getting rained out of this trip this weekend. The rain isn't really the issue; it's all the thunderstorms that are predicted. Fingers crossed for next weekend!

If you run into any troubles in South Florida just howl directly to me, we have friends from the LAMA club to help.

I'm good now, brother. I got back to north Florida on Sunday afternoon so I could go back to work Monday morning.

Hey Joker, I'm also very interested in this. Planning a "Escape the Winter 2021" trip to the Keys with a couple riders and we would be starting our road trip from around South Of the Border, South Carolina. All the way down to Key West and back. Looking for points of interests along the road... mostly we'd stick to the central places like Savannah GA, Jacksonville FL, Orlando, Tampa, the 'glades, Miami, and then the Keys. Anything you have to suggest along the road would be welcome!

All the way down to Key West and back. Looking for points of interests along the road... mostly we'd stick to the central places like Savannah GA, Jacksonville FL, Orlando, Tampa, the 'glades, Miami, and then the Keys. Anything you have to suggest along the road would be welcome! If you are sticking to mainly I-95, watch out for all the tire debris ALL OVER the road. It's bad enough that you're dodging cars while everyone is doing around 90, but add in all the tractor trailer tire treads everywhere and it gets hairy. This is further compounded by all the iguanas darting back and forth across the highway down around Miami. If you are going during the summer be prepared for extreme temperatures, humidity, and mosquitoes. I basically just slept on top of my sleeping bag to soak up the sweat while listening to the blood suckers buzz around the tent. I also ended up with about a half dollar sized blister on the inside of my right thigh from cooking it on the radiant heat coming off my engine. There are lots of cool Harley dealerships down I-95 if that is your thing, including the one at Daytona that is a massive complex complete with shopping mall, tattoo shop, hotel, and J&P Cycle. The craft beers that can be picked up in most gas stations and grocery stores in Florida are pretty damn good. The seafood is amazing all down the coast. In Key West, you can't go wrong with seafood and key lime pie. I want to go back just for the conch fritters, fresh grouper, and pie. Be prepared for the trip down the Keys to take a couple of hours longer than Google Maps will tell you because everyone is driving considerably under the speed limit. I unfortunately didn't make it past Marathon before I had to turn back due to time constraints. I hope that is a little bit of help in planning for safety, heat, and the like.
